These include releasing two major updates (Unholy Alliance and local co-op), hosting themed weddings for fans, creating animated shorts, comics, and music, and more. Despite their frustration, the developers ended the thread graciously, wishing luck to the five nominated games. The Best Community Support category this year features heavyweights like Baldur’s Gate 3, Final Fantasy 14, Fortnite, Helldivers 2, and No Man’s Sky. While some nominees, like Fortnite and Final Fantasy 14, are veterans of the category, the inclusion of the newly released Helldivers 2 surprised many, given its limited time to establish community initiatives compared to older titles. Massive Monster is not alone in their disappointment, as Playground Games also voiced dissatisfaction over Forza Horizon 5 being omitted from the Best Ongoing Game category. Despite these controversies, The Game Awards 2024 promises an exciting show, set to air on December 12. In addition to the awards themselves, fans can look forward to major game reveals and trailers.
