As confirmed by the trailer, Astro Bot will add five new online speedrun levels, along with 10 new bots to rescue. Players can look forward to levels with water/ice and jungle themes, complete with Donkey Kong-style wooden barrels. Among the new VIP bots to rescue are Stellar Blade's Eve and four different Helldivers, which players will encounter when the Astro Bot update launches. While waiting for the update, Astro Bot fans can focus on collecting all the VIP bots already present in the game. Astro Bot features over 300 bots to rescue, with 169 of them being special characters from other PlayStation games. Additionally, four more VIP bots can be unlocked by playing through Astro's Playroom, bringing the total to 173. Considering the overwhelmingly positive reception of Astro Bot, it will be interesting to see if this fall update marks the end of support for the game or if Team Asobi has more plans in store. Although the upcoming update is free, one might imagine there could be value in offering paid DLC in the future. After all, some major PlayStation characters, like Insomniac's version of Spider-Man, are not yet represented in Astro Bot and could entice players to invest in additional content.
